Robert Alkon, CPA

"Everyone needs financial planning"

Bob believes so strongly in this that all Alkon & Levine clients have the opportunity to participate in financial planning as part of the firm's basic service. Practicing accounting in the City of Newton for 40 years, Bob's credentials as a certified public accountant and financial planner offer clients the expertise to cover many personal needs. Topics include cash flow, retirement, investment strategies, long-term care, legal documentation, as well as estate and gift planning. From analyzing educational funding to estate tax settlement, Bob is there to help. 


 Jeffrey S. Levine, CPA, MST

Jeff coined the term "financial therapy" - an Alkon & Levine trademark that ensures individual and corporate clients receive rigorous attention to their financial needs. A partner since 1983, Jeff primarily provides tax and financial planning services to individual clients. With many years of accounting expertise, he also provides tax and consulting services to a diverse group of corporate and non-profit clients.

Jeff has served on many boards and committees both professionally and as a volunteer, and is currently on the marketing committee of the Massachusetts Society of CPA's. He has been a guest lecturer for the MSCPA, Bentley College and Internal Revenue Service Annual Town Meeting, Greater Boston Board of Real Estate, and has been a featured writer in the Boston Globe, Fortune Magazine, Bloomberg Business, INC, and other publications.      


 Theresa Houck, CPA

Theresa's specialty is audits, and she brings large firm experience to the personal hands-on atmosphere at Alkon & Levine. Theresa has broad experience with businesses and non-profit organizations, large and small. From assistance programs to zoos, Theresa has worked with all types of organizations to help them achieve their missions while balancing complicated funding requirements. A graduate of UMass-Boston with more than 22 years of tax and accounting experience, Theresa is also responsible for many of the firms more challenging multi-state tax returns for clients who are on the move. Theresa has been a partner since 1998.                         


 Paul Perrotta, CPA

Paul has served small business and individual tax clients for more than 20 years, and has been a partner at Alkon & Levine since 1998. He has a dual degree in accounting and management from Northeastern University. Paul specializes in the real estate and professional service (medical, law and consulting) industries. He enjoys the challenge of blending the necessity of tax compliance work with the practical planning considerations all small or emerging business owners face. Paul possesses the ability to interact with and communicate with the client in an informative manner while placing issues in the proper perspective. When he is not servicing his clients, he enjoys playing basketball with his son and coaching the youth of Melrose in the town basketball league.                      


Kathy Walsh Heraghty, CPA

Kathy enjoys the direct, personal contact with clients. That approach is a priority at Alkon & Levine. Kathy works closely with individuals and a variety of family owned businesses, including filmmakers, photographers, educators and consultants. She enjoys servicing clients with tax planning for both individuals and businesses. A partner at Alkon & Levine since 1998, she earned her business degree from Emmanuel College in Boston. Kathy has more than 20 years of public accounting experience.

Nina D. Bond, CPA

With nearly 15 years of experience at mid-size accounting firms, Nina has worked with a diverse group of companies and industries. She also works closely with individuals on their personal tax matters. Her services embrace all aspects of accounting. She is a graduate of Northeastern University.


Linda P. Abair, CPA

Linda brings her small business talents to companies primarily in the service and construction industries. With more than 15 years experience in public accounting, she also specializes in the non-profit sector. In addition, Linda works closely with individuals on their personal tax matters.


Mary Oldmixon, CPA

Mary, a recent addition to Alkon & Levine, has been servicing the financial and tax needs of the closely-held family owned business in the Boston metropolitan area for nearly 20 years. A graduate of Boston College, she provides financial and tax compliance services to her corporate and individual clients and is constantly on guard to provide the additional value added service.


Joe Newpol, Esq, CPA

Joe is one of Alkon & Levine's senior tax experts. He is an "accountant's accountant" and solves high-level tax problems for our clients. A professor of tax at Bentley College, Joe provides A & L staff with tax review, educational support and special research. With three decades of varied accounting experience, Joe has also worked in the office of tax counsel at The Gillette Company and at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  


Nune Khachatrian, CPA

Nune (pronounced Noo-nay) brought an international flair to our firm when she joined in 2007.  She came to the US in 1998 after earning a Bachelor's Degree and working as an accountant in her native Armenia.  Since coming to America, she has worked in public accounting providing a variety of accounting services to businesses and individuals and has earned her CPA and designation as an enrolled agent.  She is currently pursuing a Masters in Taxation at Bentley College.  Send e-mail to Nune

Jackie Rivera, Bookkeeper

Jackie brings with her over 17 years of experience assisting small businesses with their administration and accounting needs. As a full charge bookkeeper in industries as diverse as non-profit, restaurant and printing she has been responsible for cash management, payroll, planning, and budgeting as well as training support personnel.

 

Support Team

Dalyte Bernotas, Firm Administrator

Dalyte is involved in all aspects of our firm's operations, including financial management, client relations, human resources, and information systems. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Stonehill College and an MBA with a Marketing concentration from Boston College.  She joined the firm in 2007 after working as an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand and then as a software engineer in the banking industry.  Her diverse experiences and education make her well suited for managing the multiple tasks of her position here.  She is also very active in the Association of Accounting Administration's Northeast Chapter.


Marcy McNally, Office Manager

As Office Manager, Marcy coordinates all customer service issues, and handles all billing and collections. She also works one-on-one with clients who require monthly billpaying and bookkeeping services. She has been with the firm for over 10 years.


Elisa and Paula, Client Services

Elisa and Paula are your initial contacts at Alkon & Levine.  They are the voice and face of the firm and have been for several years, Elisa since 1999 and Paula since 2006.  They work together as a team and are always ready to provide Alkon & Levine's clients with a high level of service.   Send e-mail to Elisa or send e-mail to Paula.
